Project Voice: Youth Conference
The School-Community Health Alliance would like to formally thank all of the communities that participated in the first annual Project Voice: A Dynamic Approach to Youth Empowerment Conference on October 26, 2009 in Frankenmuth. Over 100 youth joined SCHA-MI in a day of empowerment, advocacy, and learning. Students were given the opportunity to hear and meet two of the original students from the Freedom Writers, taught the importance of advocacy, and given a hands-on learning experience in 8 different advocacy strategies they can take back to their community to become positive catalysts for change. We have some impressive upcoming leaders on our hands in Michigan!
